Since 1991: Providing the tools to reeducate, rejuvenate and regenerate, the body, mind, and brain - to live a better life than you can imagine. The White Willow Difference
The White Willow School of Tai Chi and Qigong is a school where you will learn to train and transform your body and your life. Our goal is to teach you how to become a master of this art, your body and your mind. Our mission is your wellness.
Our curriculum is designed to achieve consistent, repeatable, positive change within a stress free environment. The effectiveness of the method has been proven in over 30 thousand contact teaching hours by thousands of satisfied clients in the Cincinnati area.
The teaching takes students without any prior experience through an easy to perform systematic method that provides a logical understanding of their body, its functioning and the fundamental mechanics of movement. We teach the details in depth within western models of training and science. This manner of teaching accelerates the learning of a beginner and enriches the knowledge of an experienced practitioner.
In simpler words, it’s a pleasant, rather effortless learning experience for most everyone. Although the lessons are pleasantly relaxing, there is a lot of advanced information being taught. Many healers, yoga and martial arts instructors have experienced body energies and meditation results that they believed were unattainable without twenty or more years of practice. Most attained skills they didn't even know were possible.
Master Teacher Vincent J. Lasorso, Jr. has dissected and analyzed every aspect of the system and every goal a student may have for the system. Using his professional training and experience in human factors engineering and thirty-four years of Tai Chi and Qigong experience, he has determined the most efficient method of training the system to ensure all principles are conveyed and assimilated without compromising the students’ personal objectives, beliefs and learning style.
Authentic Tai Chi / Qigong For A Modern World
At White Willow School of Tai Chi we present authentic and ancient Tai Chi and Qi Gong systems, movements and methods taught within the modern models and language of western science, medicine and education.
Although we use the movement technologies from Chinese medicine (Qigong) and martial arts (Tai Chi Chuan) The principles underlying these movements are the same as found in the great cultures of Egypt, Greece, India, and Rome. In the schema of humankind, the division of East and West is merely one of fashion and politics. All human systems of healing, physical conditioning and defense, medicine, and worship are derived from the same source.
Tai Chi forms and Qigong were designed to maintain and transform the human organism to achieve its highest physical, mental, and metaphysical potential. The movements, breathing, awareness and meditation techniques activate indigenous organic mechanisms within us that improve our physical body, brain, mental processing, and spiritual perceptions.
With targeted, detailed training, devoid of myth but rooted in tradition, our indigenous mechanisms can be immediately activated to begin the regeneration/rejuvenation process.
The White Willow system and curriculum of training provides consistent, repeatable results in hours, which only randomly occur in years of trial and error, follow the leader, training styles. Quick and targeted results are especially important when a person is faced with a degenerative process or disease. There is little time to gamble or waste hoping something will work.
All Tai Chi and Qigong practice, even when performed and learned incorrectly improves a person’s life and well being. Great results happen, even if you can’t do it right. Results are not dependant upon correct movements and what style of forms you practice. Results are achieved from the practice of the processes and principles of mind and body. No one does it right!
What does this mean for you?
As a student of White Willow you will learn the skills of how to relax your body, manage your stress, focus your mind, control pain, and attain incredible strength within the first class. And you will be able to immediately use and integrate those skills into your life. Changing the conditioning, habits, and behaviors of your life - which created the original unbalance - is another matter. Here, again, the technology has a tremendous potential for releasing dysfunctional patterns of thought and rewiring organic structures of the brain. The specific system taught at White Willow has very positive actions upon the organic functions of the central nervous system.
The Level One program educates a student in how to perfect relaxation, how to calm and focus the mind, how to release physical tension and misalignments, how to move efficiently and effectively. The exercises develop strength and flexibility of body and mind. Level One will increase your awareness of your life, its patterns and the patterns of your environment.
Western Tai Chi
The ancient Chinese physicians and scientists of four thousand years ago who created Qigong and Tai Chi would not be wearing rough silk robes talking Yin/Yang theory and the necessity of balancing the elements of wood, water, metal, earth, and fire in our present world. Today they would be wearing lab coats with pocket protectors, discussing string theory, educating you in the actions of your biological systems and explaining how thoughts can alter your body and the environment around you. The ancient sages were the quantum theorists of their time. Now we live in an age where information about the physical world is changing on a daily basis. There is no need to waste time shifting through obscure and obtuse writings, rituals and practices to discover actions, which yield life changing results.
It is fun exploring the ancient culture of China, as it is fun to explore any culture. But an exploration of ancient western culture will reveal there is no difference between eastern and western. There is only the human process. Therefore we do not believe that wearing costumes, speaking Chinese, quoting Tao Te Ching and escaping into eastern culture are productive to discovering the true authentic self.
The self that is free of cultural definitions and limitations.
