Black Teas
Black teas are allowed to fully oxidize giving them a rich, dark appearance, the greatest amount of caffeine and a strong, brisk flavor. Black teas are wonderful for preventing heart disease and stroke, and like their close relatives, green, white and oolong tea, provide us with many important antioxidants.
Flowering Teas
Flowering teas take the simple act of drinking tea and transform it into a visually exciting and rich experience full of color and vibrancy.
Green Teas
Green teas are harvested and then heated immediately making them non oxidized. They produce a fragrant, vegetal character, and when properly brewed the tea liquor will appear light and clear with a pale green or yellow hue. These delicate teas should never be prepared with boiling water.
Herbal Teas
Herbal teas are made with fresh and/or dried flowers, leaves, seeds or roots. Ranging from sleep aids to remedies, herbal teas are a gentle catalyst for awakening our lost taste of medicine.
Oolong Teas
Oolong teas are allowed to oxidize for various lengths of time (15– 75 percent oxidation) allowing for a wide range of character and caffeine content; the darker, or more oxidized, the higher the caffeine content. The most commonly consumed oolong teas in the US are the dark varieties, which appear amber in color and are rich and complex in taste. Whether light or dark, oolong teas are delicious and terrific for easing digestion and aid in healing skin disorders like eczema.
Pu'erh Teas
Pu'erh is a large leaf tea variety or Dayeh, and is grown and picked throughout the year, unlike other teas that require a dormant season. Although dark Pu'erh tastes much like black tea, it is not black or oolong tea, but falls into a category of its own. Pu'erh is processed much like black tea with the exception of a couple steps.
Rooibos Teas
Rooibos (also known as Red Tea) is full of flavor, and a caffeine-free alternative to tea. With the many amazing health benefits surfacing and many flavors available, rooibos tea has far surpassed its role as an alternative beverage
White Teas
White teas are harvested and then heated immediately making them non oxidized. They produce a fragrant, vegetal character, and when properly brewed the tea liquor will appear light and clear with a pale green or yellow hue. These delicate teas should never be prepared with boiling water.
